Abstract

High school learning requires teachers to carry out the teaching process using appropriate learning methods and materials based on expected competencies. At SMA IBA Palembang, knowledge and experiences possessed by the teacher are still stored in each teacher and have not been documented in a system. However, when a teacher retires, the knowledge and experiences of the teacher will also go away and be lost. Therefore a Knowledge Management System (KMS) to manage teacher knowledge needs to be developed. In order to improve KMS development results in terms of usability and user experience, user experience design with the Design Thinking Method is an option. In this paper KMS development with the Design Thinking Method is used to identify problems and existing user needs. This solution can produce good user interface and user experience based on user needs at SMA IBA Palembang. Before being implemented, the KMS has been tested using the System Usability Scale method with an average value of 81.43. It means that the system is accepted by prospective users. The KMS implementation was tested with 43 test items using the Blackbox Testing method. The result stated that the system could function to solve problems that occurred.

Abstract

DISKOMINFO OKU Regency provides recommendations for the establishment of telecommunication towers. Then do the planning and arrangement of telecommunication towers. However, this is still done manually based on map visualization in printed books, so when changes occur, you have to reprint the book, and you have to re-plan with Microsoft Excel, which makes the process more difficult and time consuming. In addition, there is no digital tower information service causing a lack of information for tower providers, so that the construction of towers has not been properly organized. So the solution to this problem is to build a system that can manage data, can map telecommunication towers and can plan the need for shared towers for the next 5 years by taking into account population, cellular service users, traffic requirements, number of BTS and tower coverage radius, and can provides information on checking coordinates by applying the haversine method which is useful so that the construction of new towers can be properly arranged in the system, where the system is made based on a website with a design using the waterfall method. The results of this study are an application that can assist the process of planning and arrangement of towers, both visual maps, tower requirements, checking coordinates and so on, which is done computerized.

Abstract

Information technology governance (ITG) is organizational management that aims to ensure the implementation of IT is carried out effectively and efficiently in realizing organizational goals. ITG in ensuring the implementation of IT, through measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes, use of resources, risk management, and improvement of organizational performance. Therefore, ITG has now become the focus of organizational leaders in general and is the core of IT success in organizations. Meanwhile, the success of ITG in an organization is largely determined by the alignment between IT and organizational goals. This alignment can be realized by planning ITG. In making ITG planning, a framework is needed, namely COBIT. Therefore, ITG planning is important for the organization, so that the implementation of IT can be maximized and provide benefits for the organization. On this basis, a narrative review was carried out to explore the ITG planning research based on the COBIT 5 lifecycle. In exploring this research, it is based on formulation planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the narrative review which is based on research for the 2018 to 2023 period resulted in a formulation plan but not yet an implementation and evaluation plan. In planning the formulation is only limited to providing recommendations but is not accompanied by an implementation and evaluation plan of the recommendations. For this reason, the results of this narrative review can be used as a basis for further research on ITG planning based on the COBIT 5 lifecycle.

Abstract

Universitas Mikroskil is one of the universities in Medan City that implements information technology in its business processes such as academic services for lecturers, students, education staff, administration and student data storage, lecturers, education staff,, and so on, financial processes, lecture processes, academic guidance, lecture scheduling, student attendance attendance, study plan card filling, schedule announcements, exam announcements, grade announcements, admissions, library management and so on. Seeing the many processes at Universitas Mikroskil, a disaster management plan is needed that can be used at the managerial level to anticipate the occurrence of unwanted things such as loss of important data or documents, viruses on computers or servers, and so on. The purpose of this study is to analyze and assess the risks and impacts of risks at Universitas Mikroskil. Furthermore, a business continuity plan is prepared based on an analysis of business risks and impacts to overcome information technology that is constrained by the disaster risk that occurs. Risk assessment on two natural threats has Vital criticality. The risk assessment on the three human threats has 1 Critical-Mission criticality, 1 Vital criticality, and 1 Minor criticality. The risk assessment on three infrastructure threats has 1 Critical-Mission criticality, and 2 Vital criticality. Risk assessment on three IT system threats has 2 Critical-Mission criticality, and 1 Vital criticality. From 8 operational activities, there are 5 Critical-Mission services, 2 Vital services, 1 Important service.

Abstract

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems provide extensive benefits, challenges, and impacts to the entire enterprise. ERP systems help companies to share and transfer data and information across functional units within and outside the company aiming to achieve different goals. One such aspect is the investment in ERP system implementation. ERP systems collect, record, integrate, manage, and transmit data and information across functional units of the company. In this paper, we follow the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) research method to explore the benefits, challenges, and impacts of ERP system implementation with a literature review conducted using the methodology guide from Kitchenham et al. This method conducts a systematic review consisting of three stages: planning, implementation, and reporting. The conclusion in this study is that there are benefits, challenges and impacts in an integrated ERP system to improve processes and product quality, reduce production cycle time, and improve the decision-making process then there are challenges of security risks and functionality limitations and there are impacts such as reducing time when processing data, increasing efficiency when used and providing high-quality services.

Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program provides facilities for students to transfer credits from work activities to specific courses. To support this process, this research utilizes Semantic Web technology by integrating an ontology built using the Protégé tool. Through the use of SPARQL query language, Semantic Web technology enables efficient and accurate searching between activity descriptions and courses based on the context and semantic meaning of the data. The research results show that this research can retrieve the required information efficiently and accurately from the ontology that has been developed.

Abstract

Information security systems are important for organizations, including universities, because they are a crucial aspect of today's digital world. In this context ISO 27001:2022 is an important standard. One of the universities in Jambi City  manages sensitive data, using various information systems such as student data, lecturers, finance, employees and research, this will certainly increase the complexity of information security system governance. The college also has an open academic community, consisting of students, alumni, faculty, and administrative staff, which provides opportunities for increased information system security risks, such as phishing and malware attacks. This study aims to develop an assessment model for the compliance of higher education organizations with ISO 27001:2022 standards and apply the model to one of the universities in Jambi City. Evaluations show that the universities has a high level of compliance with physical and environmental security, but areas such as information security policy, risk management, information assets, access control, network security, as well as security incident management require increased compliance. Recommendations for improvement and improvement are given for each area that requires more attention, according to the ISO 27001:2022 standard including the development of risk identification, risk management, identification of important information assets, protection of information assets, protection against network attacks, regular network security monitoring, procedures for developing effective event response, reporting of security events, and learning from events that occur. In conclusion, the development of one of the universities in Jambi City organization's compliance assessment model with the ISO 27001:2022 standard provides a comprehensive view of the level of compliance in various areas of information system security. Through the identification of weaknesses and the recommendations for improvement that are drafted, concrete steps can be taken to improve compliance and manage information system security more effectively.

Abstract

The new student orientation is a period where new students adjust and become familiar with the environment and activities at the university. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the orientation activity changed from campus activities to virtual meetings. Even though the orientations held back on campus, the problems persist. These problems are communication or students' lack of alertness when paying attention to announcements or activities. The solution is to create an Android application to assist the orientation process. The application uses the Laravel Representational State Transfer (RESTful) Application Programming Interface (API) to communicate between the application and the database. Android users are divided into administrators, lecturers or committees, and students. This application uses markerless augmented reality which was created using Unity's Lean Touch library to show laboratory maps. Another feature of the application is a quiz. This feature is used to confirm given material or activities. Surveys given to the committee, lecturers, and students show that the application can support new student orientation activities.
